Douluo Dalu is no isolated world, but a core fragment of the ancient primordial wilderness, the world of Journey to the West, shattered during the final tribulation of an era. The laws of Heaven’s Way mutated here, giving rise to the unique Martial Soul system. Martial Souls are manifestations of the primordial imprints, karmic burdens, or Buddhist and Daoist nature hidden within living beings. Soul power is mutated spiritual energy; Soul Rings and Soul Bones are connected to the spirits of primordial demon clans and the remains of gods and demons. And the so-called divine realm is, in truth, a new order built by the gods and Buddhas of the Heavenly Court after the tribulation, a cage forged amid scarce resources.
