At the age of five, Xie Yunshu and Xie Yunyi, legitimate daughters of a Vice Minister, witnessed their birth mother being disfigured and thrown off a cliff. The sisters were then sold separately by human traffickers, one to the north and the other to the south.
After ten years of bloodshed, the elder sister became a wicked doctor of Miaojiang, whose poisons could save lives or destroy the heart. The younger sister became a feared killer in the northern frontier, leaving no survivors wherever her blade struck.
When the two deadly sisters crossed paths over a blood-jade ring
Poison formations could not trap the icy blade, and flashes of steel could not sever the threads of the Gu.
Only when the butterfly-shaped birthmarks on their shoulders faced each other and their shattered jade pendants were made whole again did they learn the truth: their fated enemy was their own flesh and blood!
Meanwhile, on the Phoenix Terrace in the capital, the step-grandmother who had usurped the rightful matriarch’s place fingered her prayer beads and sneered, “If I could kill the mistress of the house back then, why should I fear two little girls?”
But she did not know that a general’s iron hooves had already breached the manor gates, and the twin stars of death were readying poison and drawing their blades:
“The debt you owe our mother must be paid in fire!”
Everyone in the book is well written. I feel so sorry for the two sisters. Fortunately, they have both met people who are very good to them.
