After the fall of Peiping in 1937, Chen Qiming, a descendant of General Faqiu, united with the three sects Mojin Xiaowei, Banshan Taoist, and Xiling Lishi to form the "Four Gates Society". On the surface, they robbed tombs but actually delivered supplies to the anti-Japanese forces.
