Genshin Impact: Morax Doesn’t Want a Bad Ending

[!! Abandoned story!!! Click with caution!!!]

Many, many years ago, when Qing Zhou, a Xianzhou native, first opened his heart to Morax, he made one thing perfectly clear to the Geo Archon: sooner or later, he would die because of an irresistible force called “Mara.”

Morax took the news in stride. The two even had a serious discussion about aftercare for a Mara-stricken death. Since Qing Zhou was a formidable fighter, once Mara took hold and he lost all reason, Morax would personally grant him a merciful death. The whole package: killing, burial, and memorial rites, all handled with care.

But as time went on, Morax furrowed his brow and realized things weren’t so simple:

1. Qing Zhou was hard to kill.

2. The aftermath was more troublesome than they’d first expected.

3. Morax was far less willing to do it than he’d initially thought.

Worse still, Qing Zhou began acting strangely, too

Qing Zhou: “Morax, I want to break up with you.”

Morax: “? That’s not funny.”

Qing Zhou: “I’m serious.”

Morax: “Don’t you have feelings for me anymore?”

Qing Zhou: “That’s not it.”

Morax: “Did I do something to hurt you?”

Qing Zhou: “…It’s my problem.”

Morax: “That goes against our contract.”

Qing Zhou: “I know.”

Nothing Morax did to make him stay worked. Qing Zhou ran off, leaving behind an unexpected bad ending.

Morax didn’t want a bad ending, or at least not one that came out of nowhere.

Morax: By universal logic, how does one avoid a bad ending? That is the question.
