This is the story of Su Ce, a modern young man who transmigrates and becomes the county magistrate of Lantian during the Zhenguan era. Accustomed to simplified Chinese characters and keyboards, Su Ce finds writing in traditional characters extremely uncomfortable. He governs Lantian County in an unconventional way. Though the region prospers, he keeps sending reports of disasters to the court, hoping to stay out of its political infighting. He introduces many policies to benefit the people, including building waterworks, improving farm tools, constructing dedicated roads, and setting up free soup kitchens. His initiatives catch Li Shimin’s attention, and when the emperor visits Lantian County in disguise, a series of entertaining events unfolds, bringing new challenges to Su Ce’s fate.
The plot may include a large number of things that should not appear, such as gunpowder. If the protagonist only created it himself, it would be okay. However, the court has actually created it and has not destroyed the surrounding countries. The Mo Dao has actually spread to Lantian County around the capital. It is very dangerous.
