They first meet in a rainy lane. Wen Yanjing, a poor scholar, shields his books from the rain, and Sheng Rulan, the fifth young lady of the Sheng family, a woman who has transmigrated, offers him an umbrella.
One umbrella shelters them from wind and rain; together, they weave a path to success for all.
With wisdom as their shuttle, this poor couple weaves a legacy of integrity and flourishing trade amid the tides of change in the Northern Song Dynasty.
