The Heavenly Doctor and Physiognomist

In the glittering, noisy modern city, Lin Jiuchen, a trainee practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, unexpectedly awakens his family’s ancestral Art of Heavenly Medical Insight. By observing a person’s features, he can tell how deep an illness runs; by studying their complexion, he can discern their fate and whether they will live or die. When he discovers the “fatal blue markings” between a billionaire’s brows and the “peach-blossom curse spots” at the corner of a rich heiress’s eyes, he realizes that this concrete jungle conceals life-and-death traps more perilous than anything in the ancient martial world.

From top-tier hospitals to occult forums, from emergency rooms to feng shui schemes, he wields silver needles like a sword and physiognomy like a shield, exposing bizarre illnesses that modern medicine cannot explain: the “gluttony marks” behind a celebrity’s inexplicable weight loss, the “blood-jade corpse spots” on an antique dealer’s neck, the “dark yin aura” haunting a multinational conglomerate’s conference room... When the dark web places a huge bounty on his eyes and the “Nine Yin Dragon-Vein Lock” recorded in ancient texts reappears in the city, he clings to his ancestral precept, “Never judge a face lightly, and never alter a fate cheaply,” yet is forced into a centuries-old dispute between physiognomy and medicine.

The subtle dialectics of traditional Chinese medicine and the secret “Twelve Palace Fiends” of physiognomy collide in this blood-soaked feast of capital and occult arts. He must use his diagnostic gaze to expose the demons among us and use the arts of Qihuang to uncover the rotting karma beneath the powerful’s polished facades.
