Ryan Green, a hero burdened by a curse that binds the twin powers of light and darkness within him, loses control of his abilities after defeating the Evil God. He leads a band of companions with wildly different personalities: Lina Bell, a deeply blessed priestess who is purehearted and loves to eat, but reveals another side under extreme pressure; Hugo Ketter, a Rockguard who carries a massive shield, excels at cooking, and displays remarkable ingenuity in a crisis; and Illyra Vane, an elegant young woman who is actually a vampire archmage devoted to reason. She excels at predicting how people think, but struggles with spatial magic.
The party tracks evil to the peaceful town of Ruoshui, only to find Lina trapped in a monastery corrupted by “Upside-Down Tears,” turning a sacred place of faith into a source of nightmares. Hugo is captured and his mind brought under control, while Ryan fights the Bone King “Final Echo: Chaos” in the dragon tomb known as the Ashen Bone Mound, pushing his power to the brink of a rampage. In the midst of the crisis, they meet a local boy named Aiden Veld, who wields spatial rune magic, wears the Primordial Rune that nullifies runic magic, and has a mysterious connection to the Upside-Down Tears.
To rescue their companions and destroy the corruption, the hero’s party must confront the fissures in their own hearts and find a path to salvation and an end amid the shadow of the Weeping Holy Tears and the roar of the Final Echo.
