The continent of Estella is a world where magic once flourished, but it gradually dried up after the "Great Silence" event hundreds of years ago. Magic has not completely disappeared, but has become extremely unstable and dangerous, and its users often pay a heavy price (physical distortion, insanity, shortened life span). The social structure collapses and reorganizes, and technology (steampunk/clockwork technology) and remaining magic coexist with difficulty.
Time Sand: An extremely rare dark golden gravel that contains the power to distort time and space. Legend has it that it originated from the core of chaos at the beginning of the world, or the broken "time organ" of a fallen outer god. When in contact, sand may see fragmentary illusions of the past/future, but it may also be corroded by its power, accelerate aging or cause indescribable changes.
Whisperers: A group of people who can weakly perceive the existence of time sand and can interpret the information of time and space fragments under its influence. They were viewed as madmen, prophets, or dangerous heretics. True "Whisperers" are extremely rare and their abilities are extremely unstable.
The Watchers: An ancient, secretive organization that claims its mission is to collect and seal dangerous time sand to prevent its power from getting out of control and destroying the world. They possess fragmented knowledge about the truth about Shisha and the world, and act mysteriously and ruthlessly.
Gear Parliament: An emerging alliance of technological city-states that dominates the industrial development of the continent. They covet the huge energy contained in Shisha, trying to use it as an inexhaustible energy source to promote the arrival of the "New Era".
