Qi Tongwei Reborn: This Time, I Want to Be a Good Official

At the end of his life, Qi Tongwei shot himself at Lone Eagle Ridge, filled with regret and bitterness. Fate gave him a chance to start over, sending him back to the crossroads of his life: the 1993 graduation ceremony for the law department at Handong University.

This time, with the memories of the next twenty years in his hands, he is determined to change the course of his life completely. He tears up the assignment slip for the Hongshan Township Justice Office, a symbol of political oppression that would have banished him to the margins, and chooses a thorny path he can follow with a clear conscience: he volunteers for the toughest and most dangerous post, the anti-drug squad in Yantai City.

Reborn, Qi Tongwei possesses far greater maturity and insight than his peers, along with the ability to foresee key turning points. He knows power is a double-edged sword and understands that some seemingly mighty forces are destined to collapse. No longer seeking personal success and advancement, he resolves to use his “foresight” to protect justice and bring about change, step by step and within the rules, make amends for the regrets of his previous life, and truly fulfill his vow to “serve the people.” He will face familiar faces from his past life, new challenges, the unspoken rules of officialdom, immense temptations of profit, and deadly threats lurking in the shadows. His goal is simple: to be a good official.
