[Ensemble cast + very slow pace + alternate world + lighthearted + world-building]

In her previous life, overworked Yun Shu was a wage slave. Clinging to her dream of lying flat, she transmigrates into an alternate dynasty as a poor girl pushed off a cliff by her own younger sister!

Her goals are simple:

Tear into her scumbag father and scheming stepmother, and win back her freedom!

Get rich through hard work, and own vast fields and hundreds of shops!

Surround herself with handsome men and start a happy life of lying flat!

But just as she’s about to make her dreams come true, a world-shaking Sky Screen suddenly reveals the truth!

[Today, we’re talking about Gu Xuan, the emperor who ushered in a golden age for the Jing Dynasty, and Yun Shu, the empress who ruled the realm!]

Yun Shu: ??? This hallucination is way too realistic! Is staying up late too much in my past life making me see things?!

However, an imperial summons has already arrived in the capital: all eligible young women of the Yun family in Quzhou may enter the palace to take part in the selection of consorts!

Yun Shu grits her teeth in anger. “Become the emperor’s woman? I only want to make money and keep handsome men!”

Unexpectedly, the secret guard she takes in turns out to be…

[Sky Screen broadcast: The empress launches an age of commercial prosperity, filling the treasury and doubling tax revenue!]

Civil and military officials: Her Majesty is wise! Your Majesty, please go right ahead!

Yun Shu: So I’m the only one doing all the work while you lot sit back and watch?!

[The Sky Screen continues: The empress creates a new imperial examination system. The nation flourishes, and the talent pool triples in size!]

Civil and military officials: Her Majesty is truly a goddess sent from heaven!

Yun Shu: Did I come here to be an examiner?!

[The Sky Screen reveals at last: The emperor issues an edict, naming his daughter as his successor!]

The officials burst into tears.

The emperor declares boldly, “Agreed!”

And Yun Shu, the slacker who only wanted to lie flat, calmly announces, “This is the will of heaven!”
