Green Erosion

Beneath the sky, towering trees reach for the heavens. Far away in the universe lies the verdant planet Cangcui, where a vast, boundless primeval forest is the planet’s only ecosystem. Tiny and vulnerable, humans are forced to build a fragile civilization high above the ground, in the treetops a thousand meters up: the airborne Cloud Perch people. Skywalks woven from crystal and vines, and homes lit by bioluminescent specks, form a world that is as wondrous as it is perilous. Raptors in the skies, beasts on the forest floor, strange man-eating plants, and plundering outsiders relentlessly threaten humanity’s fragile civilization. The mysterious, ultimate Green Tide, which brings the forest to life, is an even harsher trial for the Cloud Perch people. Their civilization struggles to survive, swaying precariously.

Su Mu is a frail sixteen-year-old boy and a botanist who accidentally transmigrated from Earth. Longing for his homeland and gripped by a deep fear of the bottomless abyss beneath his feet, he is trapped in this perilous world in the sky.
