Brocade Guard in the Dark: The Jiaqing Secret Scroll

Transmigrating into a low-ranking Jinyiwei officer, Lin Mo thinks he's landed a trial run as a Ming dynasty civil servant. That is, until he wakes up alone in the imperial prison and learns his predecessor died of "acute workplace stress overload"... His watery porridge is laced with arsenic, a secret letter is hidden in the cotton batting, and even the rats in his cell are batting their eyes at him. When a modern forensic examiner finds half a bar of soap in a cell flooded with filth, the schemes of the entire Ming dynasty suddenly open a door to the toilet for him. (Please note: although the novel is based on history, it is not actual history! Some historical details have been changed for the sake of the story, such as Lu Bing living a few years longer. We hope readers won't mistake the novel for real history.)
