A world of cultivation where order has collapsed and rules are chaotic due to a mysterious catastrophe ("Heavenly Disaster") that broke out in ancient times. The spiritual energy of heaven and earth is no longer pure, and contains the "turbid breath" of decay. The laws are distorted, and regional rules are extremely different (gravity is chaotic in some places, and time passes unevenly in some places), giving rise to various strange creatures and mutated civilizations (such as the city-state of Yanshu cultivation that combines machinery and runes, and the demonized and mutated "alien monks").
