Autumn in Chang'an City always carries a desolate coolness, especially in the criss-crossing old alleys in the south of the city. My name is Chen Mo, and I work in the antique business for a living. Although I say it is a job, it actually comes from my family background - my ancestors were once a famous "gold-touching" lineage in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.
