Reborn, and ready for a fight!
On the eve of the new millennium, bankrupt businessman Zhou Ran is reborn in a senior-year high school classroom in 1999.
The tragedy that tore his family apart in his previous life has yet to happen. The internet bubble is about to burst, and the Korean Wave is quietly building. This is an age of gold everywhere, yet fraught with moral pitfalls.
Armed with hazy memories of the future and driven by his determination to make an honest living, he embarks on a high-stakes gamble to change his fate:
He stirs up the gray-market internet cafe business, only to get caught up in a bloody pager mystery;
He rides the momentum of the Olympic bid to sell red-flag T-shirts, then turns a dirty-dye scandal into his big break;
During the SARS outbreak, he risks his life delivering medicine through the barriers, while four women who love him watch from the other side;
Just as his homegrown brand, Ranshi, is about to reach the NASDAQ, the enemy who drove him to his death in his previous life sends a gift: a suicide note, scratched with a toothbrush by Chen Xingyue in prison...
This is the wild coming-of-age story of a generation's streetwise entrepreneur.
Caught between the tides of capital and the ties of love, can he hold on to his humanity?
The year 1999, set in motion by a man reborn, will sweep across an entire era.
