A fallen genius makes a comeback against the odds: the road to glory for a “problem team”!
Ji Xingchen was once the top player in the esports world of Pinnacle Showdown, leading the “Starlight” team to a world championship and basking in glory. But a conspiracy left his hand injured and forced him to retire. He fell from the top, became a boosting player at an internet cafe, and watched his life fade away in numbness.
Then he met Cheng Xiaoyang, a rich kid and hardcore esports fan. “God Ji, let’s start a team! You’re invincible, so the rest of us can do whatever!”
And so a grassroots team of “problem players” was born:
Xu Chen, a reclusive genius mid laner: godlike mechanics, but refuses to communicate;
Su Yuqing, a hot-tempered female jungle ace: top-tier talent, but blacklisted across the internet after beating up a sponsor;
Ke Jie, a washed-up veteran support: playing professionally while supporting his family, with mechanics that can’t keep up with his game sense;
Cheng Xiaoyang, a terrible but obsessed marksman: apart from his money and enthusiasm, he has nothing.
With shoddy training facilities, industry mockery, and infighting among teammates, Ji Xingchen must use his damaged hands to forge this ragtag bunch into a hardened force. From internet cafe tournaments to the second division, from city championships to the world stage, they bring the most outrageous lineups to the most brazen matches!
“We’re not here to adapt to the rules,” Ji Xingchen says with a smile to the camera before the world championship final. “We’re here to redefine invincibility.”
