In the Whirlpool of Power: Qi Tongwei Reborn in 1987

A gunshot rang out at Guying Ridge, piercing the blood-red dusk. Qi Tongwei plunged into darkness, consumed by resentment at his fate. He thought his life had ended, but when he opened his eyes, he was back in 1987, in the green days when he'd just put on a police uniform and still held fast to his ideals. His young, resolute face stared back from the mirror as memories of his past life, ground to dust beneath the weight of power, surged through him: groveling and currying favor, backroom scheming without end, and finally being abandoned by everyone...

This time, he refuses to be a pawn manipulated by those in power. Armed with the “cheat code” of knowing the future, Qi Tongwei sets out to defy his fate. When Liang Lu's schemes close in once more and Gao Yuliang's hypocrisy plays out again, can he carve out a new path through the undercurrents of the political arena? Will he repeat the same mistakes, or become the one to break the game and upend the vortex of power? A redemption and comeback spanning time and space begins to unfold in the morning light of 1987.
