Tales of Historical Figures

In the vast galaxy of ancient Chinese mythology, Chi You is a highly legendary and controversial figure. He is seen both as a cruel villain and revered as a fearless god of war. His story spans thousands of years, continually evolving amid the intertwining of history and myth, and reflecting the complex understanding of power, war, and civilization held by ancient peoples.

According to legend, Chi You was born into the Jiuli tribe, an ancient and mysterious people who lived across the vast lands between the lower Yellow River and the Yangtze River. The fertile soil and abundant resources of this region nurtured a unique and brilliant culture. From birth, Chi You displayed extraordinary qualities. He was a towering figure of immense strength, with eight feet, three heads, six arms, a bronze head and iron forehead, and a body impervious to blades and spears. The twin horns on his forehead were as sharp as blades, and his roar shook the sky like thunder. To the people of ancient times, such a strange appearance was undoubtedly a sign of supernatural power.

Even as a child, Chi You showed great interest in the tribe's affairs and remarkable leadership skills. He was good at observing nature and learning the qualities and uses of different plants. He led his people in gathering wild fruit and hunting beasts to ensure the tribe's survival. As he grew older, Chi You gradually distinguished himself. He uncovered the secrets of metal ore and organized his people to mine it. After countless experiments and attempts, they successfully mastered bronze-smelting techniques. This breakthrough greatly increased the Jiuli tribe's productivity, enabling them to forge sharp weapons and sturdy farming tools. The advent of metal weapons also made the Jiuli tribe far more powerful in battle than the surrounding tribes, turning them into a dominant force in the region.
