A Stormwind at the Rail: An Overview
Background
The fictional dynasty of Dayin inherits the legacy of the prosperous Tang, yet faces three crises: a century of factional strife between civil officials and hereditary nobles, northern steppe tribes poised to invade, and the rising maritime dominance of the southern seas. Lu Zhaoming, a history PhD, awakens in the body of Lu Huaijin, the illegitimate son of Dayin's Vice Minister of Rites. Emerging from a life-or-death crisis in Chang'an's imperial prison, he wields modern historical thinking and classical literary learning as his weapons, carving out a path to survival amid the whirlpool of political intrigue, war, diplomacy, and reform. In the end, he steers the dynasty toward openness and renewal.

Love of Country and People: Faced with steppe cavalry, maritime smuggling, and political infighting, he uses “the historian's brush as a sword” to expose the truth and puts “the people's livelihood first” in reshaping national policy, ultimately balancing civil governance and military strength.
