Shattered Screen, Starry Orbit: The Heartbeat Code of the Raven in Neon Garb paints a coming-of-age world where reality and virtual life intertwine. In the early twenty-first century, the heroine, Shi Zhiyi, moves between Beijing, Jiangxi, and other places. She struggles beneath the shadow of school bullying and through several romances that come to nothing, yet never lets go of her dream of becoming a fashion designer. The hero, Shen Yanzhou, bears the scars of childhood trauma. Active in esports and cosplay under the name “Raven,” he uses his rational mind to protect the softness within him.
As the internet surges forward, esports and digital art flourish, and games such as Honor of Kings and Peacekeeper Elite become new ways for people to connect. The characters team up and compete in pixelated worlds, then unleash their creativity on convention stages, blending personal passions such as street dance, guitar, and programming into their virtual identities to create a distinctive language of youth. Real-world conflicts, from plagiarism scandals to revelations that turn account identities upside down, intertwine with professional settings such as fashion design graduation shows and esports tactical analysis, revealing the romance born from art colliding with technology. In the end, the protagonists find redemption on both the real and virtual battlefields. From their Star Orbit studio, they let their shattered pasts be reborn through code and dazzling fashions.
After watching "Broken Screen Star Trail: The Heartbeat Code of the Colorful Raven", I was really shocked! The author blends reality and fiction wonderfully, and the story of Shi Zhiyi and Shen Yanzhou's growth is so touching. The elements of e-sports and cosplay are combined with the pain of youth, which is not inconsistent at all. The descriptions of those professional scenes are superb, and you can see that the author has deep knowledge. Highly recommended! @
