Case Files of the Republic of China

In the early years of the Republic of China, warlords carved up the country, people lived in poverty, and hearts were unsettled, creating fertile ground for demons and monsters to thrive. Lin Qingxuan was adopted as a child by a seemingly lazy old Taoist with secret arts, who lived in a remote mountain temple. Bright and gifted, Lin seemed to have no interest in serious pursuits, yet learned all his master's secrets. He was especially skilled in talismans, feng shui, and all sorts of strange folk arts. When his master used an excuse to kick him out of the temple, Lin began his travels.
