A Pact in Troubled Times

In a world that seems ordinary but is actually rife with undercurrents, supernatural phenomena emerge like ghosts concealed in the dark, often breaking the surface and disrupting people's peaceful lives. This world is divided into the realms of yin and yang. The living world is where humans reside, while the underworld is where ghosts belong. But the boundary between the two realms is not impenetrable. Ghosts and monsters sometimes cross over, causing all kinds of paranormal incidents.

Zombies are among the most terrifying creatures in this world. They were once dead people, transformed into corpses by various causes. They possess immense strength, are impervious to blades and bullets, and crave the blood and essence of the living. Whenever a zombie appears, it is sure to unleash a wave of bloody devastation. Most of them hide in ancient tombs in the wilderness or in eerie old houses, waiting for their prey to arrive.

Metaphysics is a mysterious discipline that holds a pivotal place in this world. Metaphysicians command ancient spells and knowledge, enabling them to communicate with ghosts, exorcise evil, ward off misfortune, and set up formations. Some conceal their identities and live ordinary lives; others roam the land, making a living by dealing with all kinds of paranormal incidents. Formations are an important part of metaphysics, and each has its own purpose, such as trapping ghosts, warding off evil, or gathering spiritual energy. Metaphysicians use formations to achieve their aims, whether to protect a region or find a lost treasure.
