They had fewer children, and when they paired with people with ordinary spiritual roots, they effectively severed the line of inheritance for exceptional spiritual roots. Meanwhile, people with ordinary spiritual roots had more children, diluting the overall aptitude for spiritual roots. After ten generations, exceptional spiritual roots went from one in ten to one in ten thousand, so naturally, fewer and fewer people reached the higher cultivation levels.”
