Transmigrated as Li Zhi: Conquering the World, Starting as a County Magistrate

Li Zhi and his special forces team transmigrated to the Tang dynasty together.

At the time, Li Chengqian had not yet rebelled, and the twenty-four meritorious officials of the Lingyan Pavilion were still around. The five men didn’t want to rebel, so they had no choice but to submit. Meanwhile, they secretly developed their skills in other areas.

Some researched gunpowder, some went into business, and some went to Lingnan to build ships. Others joined the army as generals. Li Zhi, meanwhile, found an opportunity to travel to Weihai in Shandong and become its county magistrate, preparing to wage war against the Japanese and Korea.

…

Many years later, the other four men who had transmigrated with him asked Li Zhi why he didn’t wipe out the Japanese.

Li Zhi gave a devilish smile and said, “Can a general who has never killed a Japanese soldier even call himself a general? I left that place for the military academy students to use for their field exercises. If we wipe them out, where will the students go for practical training?”
