The Fogbound City of Madness: A Clown’s Requiem

A new work is here! Welcome to read my stories on Tomato Novel. I hope you enjoy them. Your support is what keeps me writing, and I’ll do my best to tell every story well!

*When the whispers of the Old Gods shroud a city of steel, only mad laughter can tear through the darkness.*

> Mist Hollow City, thick with steam and the stench of rusted blood, is being devoured by indescribable nightmares.

> The Iron Madonna in the church seeps crude oil, consuming the prayers of her followers;

> In the dead of night, the words on gravestones twist, erasing the names of the dead;

> Deep in the subway tunnels, a faceless ferryman harvests the lifespans of the living with a boat made of vertebrae

> All of it is a single strand of poison in the web of the Old God, the Dreamweaver Mordigian.

>

> **Jasper Quinn**, a third-rate circus clown with peeling greasepaint, wields the ancestral **Black Bell Cane** and awakens the most absurd of curses:

> Madness is his strength, and laughter is his weapon.

> When the Weeping Candle Wraith raises its candelabrum of human bones, he tap-dances and blows up the gas pipes;

> When the Gear-Toothed Imps turn children into clockwork puppets, he tells a deadpan joke that freezes the gears of their kingdom solid;

> When the whole city kneels beneath the shadow of the Old God, he sets up a spotlight and sends a blasphemous invitation into the abyss

> **“Audience, take your seats! The show is about to begin! Tonight, I’ll use laughter… to lay the gods to rest!”**

>

> **◈ Lovecraftian despair × the absurd aesthetics of the circus**
