Old Dreams of Jinling

A Dream in Jinling

I woke from a dream and entered an old city, where a sickly body was confined in a deep Jinling courtyard.

With hair like silk and bones frail, I had nowhere to turn, only to suffer cruel words and heartless deceit.

The medical skills of my past life now came in handy, and my keen eye saw through the roots of every illness.

With slender hands, I turned the tide, bringing deadwood back to life and restoring my spirit.

Mottled old accounts concealed dark secrets, while the once-grand gates hid deep undercurrents.

The moment the phoenix pendant appeared, the winds and clouds shifted. I broke free of my cocoon and tested my edge.

Do not assume a woman confined to the inner chambers must be helpless. Women are every bit the equal of men.

Imprisoned, I only grew more resolute. One decisive gamble would determine the fate of all under heaven.
