When Lin Mo, a member of an interstellar exploration team, touches a stone tablet covered in mysterious runes in an ancient ruin, golden energy surges into his body like a living thing, unveiling a struggle between civilizations that has spanned billions of years.
The energy eruption at the heart of the ruins not only gives Lin Mo the ability to control runes of order, but also lets him glimpse the truth behind the fractured consciousness of the "data gods." Created by an ancient advanced civilization, these cosmic order managers have had their dark fragments turned into weapons by the Harvesters to devour dimensions. As the six runes of order are activated one by one, Lin Mo and his team, comprising his partner Su Li, the cybernetic warrior A Kai, and the quantum teleporter Zero, travel through shattered star rings and rifts in spacetime. They repeatedly come under attack by the Harvesters' minions: from entropy-reducing vortices that devour energy to star-ring killing arrays built on a framework of dark matter, every clash brings a distortion of the laws of the universe.
A mysterious time traveler in a black robe repeatedly appears in moments of crisis.
