The Enemy Is at the Imperial Capital, and You Want Me to Be Qin Hui?

[No System] + [Aiding the throne] + [Fast-paced] + [Young empress]

The late emperor died, and foreign tribes invaded the frontier. The young emperor led the imperial princes on a personal expedition, and they all died in battle, leaving behind only a six-year-old princess.

Xiao Jing transmigrated to the Great Yong Dynasty. Having grown up alongside the young emperor, he was appointed commander-in-chief and tasked with defending the imperial capital.

The reinforcements from across the land had yet to set out, but the foreign army was already at the capital gates, while the capital’s garrison numbered fewer than twenty thousand soldiers.

The six-year-old princess was made to sit on the throne by the Grand Empress Dowager. Though she knew nothing of state affairs, she held Xiao Jing in special regard.

Outside the capital, a foreign envoy delivered this message: “If the commander-in-chief opens the gates and surrenders, and hands over the empress, you can remain commander-in-chief and enjoy wealth and honors for the rest of your life.”

Just then, the six-year-old empress came stumbling over with the imperial seal in her hands. “I won’t make Uncle Xiao’s choice difficult!”
