Synopsis

He was once a swordsman renowned throughout the land. Now all he has left is a white horse and a rusted sword.

The martial world says he's dead. The dynasty has struck his name from its records, and even his enemy's tombstone is overgrown with moss.

But he keeps walking.

From the ravine of Kan, the Water trigram in the Book of Changes, to the illusory fire of Li;

from the shackles of the court, where Laozi's words “Being is useful for gain” hold sway,

to the desolate wilderness, where he sighs over “Nonbeing is useful for use.”

The white horse's hoofprints cross the sixty-four hexagrams, and the rusted sword cuts through the fog:

Killing is being; mercy is nonbeing.

Power is being; the Way of Heaven is nonbeing.

Even this broken body is no more than a temporary shell borrowed from Heaven and Earth.

When the Big Dipper tilts and the Yellow River Chart appears once more,

at last, at the end of blood and snow, he understands:

the “Way” he has pursued for half his life

was always there, in the instant between drawing his sword and returning it to its sheath.

I'm Tired of the Same Old Thing. Anything but Power-Fantasy Stories

Looking for books similar to Struggling in the World I Wrote. Something other than a wish-fulfillment novel. Not a wish-fulfillment novel, not a wish-fulfillment novel, not a wish-fulfillment novel. Important things have to be said three times.

Give Me Some Decent Novels with Real Substance. No Random Recommendations

Looking for books similar to Bro, I'm a Techno-Mage, Why Are You Charging Straight at My Face? I'm suffering from a reading drought. No mainstream stuff, please. I want something that hooks me at a glance and has characters who actually use their brains. Don't give me that emotionless cultivation nonsense, either. That's just what children do before their hormones kick in.

Something with a New Kind of Story

Looking for books similar to A Zombie's Hiking Diary. Novels all feel stale now, more or less the same. Any recommendations with a fresh new approach?

A Six-Year Veteran Reader Returns, Only to Run Out of Books

Looking for books similar to "Strange Tales Livestream!" I’ve read historical romance, modern romance, rebirth, transmigration, highly rated palace intrigue, school stories, and high-rated books like "Slay the Gods", "The End of Ten Days", and BE stories. I want something different, something niche! Please recommend some. It doesn’t have to be about rules.
