When Lin Mo, an unemployed young man, stepped into the swimming pool holding the "Blue Whale Swimming Pool" experience ticket, the death code of 1999 had already been dissolved in the smell of disinfectant water. Every Sunday at midnight, city landmarks turn into a labyrinth of rules that devour the living: the deep end of the swimming pool is a lie, the red price tags in the convenience store are sacrifices, and the house numbers of the apartment buildings cannibalize people... The only rule of survival is to find loopholes in the deadly rules, or become the loophole itself.
"Do you think you can survive by following the rules? No, what the old gods want is - how you define your own existence within the rules."
