A man-made super solar storm tears apart human civilization. After his warnings fail to prevent the disaster, astrophysicist Myron encounters the enigmatic military medic Mace in the apocalypse. They discover that the catastrophe was caused by two conspiracies: the military's “Goddess of Dawn” program, which turned human bodies into weapons and spiraled out of control, and Dr. Monroe's “Deep Space Ark” program, supposedly an ark but actually a device for stealing stellar energy. Mace is the ultimate test subject of the “Goddess of Dawn” program, codenamed V7, and harbors an unstable energy source known as the “Spark Core.” Meanwhile, Myron's erased childhood memories are closely connected to it all.
