The Legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl

This book is based on one of China's four major folk legends, "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl", and uses the form of a twelve-chapter chapter novel to fully interpret this eternal love that spans the world. The work begins with the story of the Golden Boy and the Weaver Girl breaking the rules of heaven and both being demoted to the mortal world. It details the Cowherd (the reincarnation of the Golden Boy) who was bullied by his brother and sister-in-law and the rough experience of being helped by the sacred cow, as well as the lonely work of the Weaver Girl in the Yunjin Palace. After thirteen years of tribulation, the two finally reunited, but were punished by God again for their indulgence in love. Finally, through the mediation of Taibai Jinxing and Taishang Laojun, they were pardoned by the Jade Emperor and "reunion on the Magpie Bridge" on the Chinese Valentine's Day.
