Neither Life nor Oblivion

Desire is reality, and reality is full of desire.

San Francisco, 1921. A woman carries a dead baby toward the outskirts of town. Suddenly, the baby begins to cry. She raises him. Seventeen years later, the woman has vanished without a trace, and a blood-soaked boy appears at the door of an office with a sign that reads “Agency.”

He doesn't know where he came from. He only knows that something inside him is awakening: desire made manifest, something called “desire,” slowly consuming his life.

Desire is the hardest thing in the human heart to control. When the soul is ruled by desire, does it magnify the evil or the good in human nature? And when humanity truly gains this power, will it set foot on an unknown path?

This work is entirely fictional.
