The first chapter mainly focuses on the alleys of Lingnan during the Republic of China. Young Lin Yaozu was a well-known lion dancer in the neighborhood. His red lion head could spin flying flowers in his hands, and his leaping to the sound of gongs and drums always aroused applause from the streets. The second part mainly revolves around Lin Yaozu, Zhou Jingming and their child Awan, telling the daily life of the three of them building a stage and rehearsing lion dance in a small courtyard. From the excitement of the start of spring construction, to the concentration of rehearsals in the evening, to the wonderful performance of the Dragon Boat Festival Temple Fair, the thoughts of the old friends Su and Anhui are connected between the lines. The sound of gongs and drums under the willows and the swinging red lanterns outline a warm and long story that connects the past and the present.
