The Way of Ghosts and Corpses

My name is Xiao Shan, a down-and-out middle-aged nobody, a wage slave. My soul transmigrated to this world, where I could only watch my childhood sweetheart get killed, powerless to do anything.

I watched my cultivation partner get stolen away, unable to stop it. I knew it wasn’t my fault, but weakness is a sin. All I could do was climb, step by step, over countless dry bones, carrying the despair of a world where reincarnation was impossible and rebirth forever out of reach, trudging onward alone.

I don’t know what lies ahead or how far I can go. But somewhere deep down, a voice keeps telling me: Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Keep going!

I don’t want to stop, and I don’t dare to. I know things shouldn’t be this way, that the world shouldn’t be this way. The only thing I can do is keep walking. When my master’s wife named me Yuanshan, I thought she must have hoped I could keep going.

Keep walking until I’m far, far away…

Only when I reach the end of the road will I know that heaven never leaves a person without a way out. If I want to go on, tell me, everyone: who can stop me?

The road through the martial world is long, but we’ll share our joys and sorrows. Everyone, I’ll be on my way!
