Infernal Affairs: The Endless Cycle

Chen Yiwu is a mining exploration technician with solid expertise, but he is framed amid factional infighting at a domestic mining company. The company seizes the opportunity to send him to an iron ore project on the Thai-Myanmar border in Southeast Asia.

The conditions at the foreign mining site are harsh, and workplace obstacles are everywhere. While conducting a field survey, he stumbles upon hidden mineral-vein markings left by miners decades ago in an ancient, ruined temple deep in the mountains. A change in the project leads the company to pull its funding, and after the project fails, he returns home in dejection.

He thinks his time in Southeast Asia is behind him, but then a yellowed, incomplete map suddenly lands at his door. Rumors tell of a gold mine left over from a bygone era, hidden in a forested mountain valley where countless treasure hunters have met their deaths. Boss Liu, Uncle Tian, and seasoned adventurers from all walks of life gather together. Each has their own strengths, and their own secrets.

He has no unbeatable skills, only a geologist's eye for exploration. There are no cheat-like lucky encounters, only a game of wits in which the human heart is hard to fathom. Every step into the mountains is fraught with danger. What lies behind the incomplete map is not riches, but a piece of the past buried in the jungle. Forced into the game, Chen Yiwu enters the deep mountains with this band of adventurers, unraveling the secrets of rock strata and ancient ruins while seeing through the warmth and coldness of human nature.
