Rekindling the Great Northern Wilderness

After his father dies saving someone, a job at the textile mill becomes the family’s only lifeline.

In his previous life, his eldest brother died fighting on the frontier, his younger sister was forced to move to the countryside and suffered terribly, and his mother died young from overwork.

Reborn, Lin Weidong tears up the job assignment form and gives the position to his weeping sister. “I’m going to Beidahuang.”

Armed with memories of his previous life, he helps transform the Construction Corps: improving agricultural machinery, setting up a collective wild-goods factory, and preparing early for the college entrance exams.

While the educated youths scramble to return to the cities, he’s already been invited into the leadership’s office. “Comrade Xiao Lin, tell us about your plan to assign production quotas to each group.”

When the college entrance exams are reinstated, he gets into Minzu University, where he argues fiercely on campus for the “standard for judging truth.”

After graduating, he volunteers to return to the black soil region and starts out as a commune technician.
