Zhang Banling and Aji were both abandoned children!
After their master failed to obtain an elixir of immortality, Zhang Banling and Aji went down the mountain to capture ghosts and spirits and prepare the Hundred Spirits Ascension Formation.
At the Zhou residence in Huangling Town, the two gathered all one hundred spirits and unexpectedly found a black disc.
As they happily made their way back up the mountain, they had no idea they were already being watched by men in black!
At Zhengyang Temple, deep inside the mountain, the Hundred Spirits Formation was complete. The old Taoist fulfilled his wish and ascended to immortality.
But Zhang Banling and Aji were poisoned and collapsed in front of their master's coffin!
Decades later, the two awoke again. Only a stone coffin and a skeleton remained in the cave.
By then, the outside world had entered an entirely new era...
After reuniting with old acquaintances, they join 749 and become Night Watchers, facing off against the men in black...
