The Rugged Man and the Delicate Beauty

The heiress went to the countryside to bully a rugged country boy, only to be taken in by him.

As a capitalist heiress, on my very first day in the countryside, I set my sights on the tallest man in the village.

I deliberately dropped my straw hat into a muddy ditch, then blinked my watery eyes at him as he bent to pick it up.

Later, I kept pretending to faint from the heat at the hottest time of day, collapsing on the field path he had to take.

Until one day, he caught me faking a faint and carried me straight into the cornfield.

His rough fingers pinched my chin. “Keep pretending, and tomorrow the whole village will see you lying here.”

“Stay out in the sun. You can go back after you finish your work.”

I was thunderstruck. Only then did I realize he’d seen through my tricks all along.
