Gunbone

Firearms? I’d rather cleave heaven and earth with a single slash!

The children here can only become “Lawbearers” by undergoing spinal hub implantation at the age of fourteen. Only then can they transform firearms into melee weapons, giving them the slimmest chance of escaping the quagmire and becoming “useful” people. They can either work in factories maintaining the roaring mechanical behemoths, join low-tier mercenary bands and risk their lives for the powerful, or, at worst, become sentries for the Constructs. Otherwise, they are destined to become “Husks” or “Riftborn,” fresh fuel for the scrap district, rotting away without a sound.
