Ryan, a modern soul, wakes after a fatal accident to find himself a prisoner in the dungeons of the Kingdom of Altran, waiting to die. The roars of orcs and the despair of his fellow captives are this world's cruel welcome. Amid the chaos of blood and fire, Ryan draws on the ferocity and quick thinking of modern combat to fight off orcs, protect his companions, and catch the princess's eye. Starting as the lowest-ranking soldier, he hones himself on the battlefields of this strange world. His blend of modern knowledge and steely resolve lets him rise rapidly through the brutal military ranks, devising one ingenious strategy after another and winning countless battles. As he fights alongside Alicia, their bond grows into a trust and fervent affection that transcend the relationship between ruler and subject. But shadows gather beneath the throne. The old king's “accidental” death, his young brother's hurried succession, and Duke Otto's scheme to seize power drive Alicia to the brink. When an arrogant envoy tries to strip her of command and insult her dignity, Ryan draws his sword without hesitation, betraying his country to remain true to her! He turns the tide, marches on the capital, purges the court, and cuts down the treacherous power broker, forging a future of his own in this otherworld.
