A Boy's Rise to Become the Campus King

"Storm Breaks: A Boy’s Blade and the City" is an epic tale of growing up in the underworld, blending dark realities with the cruelty of youth.

In the cold cafeteria of Provincial Experimental High School, Li Tianyang’s dignity is shattered. The spoiled Zhou Hao stomps his lunchbox to pieces in front of everyone, and the humiliation of licking dirty rice off the floor becomes a turning point in his life. Seven days later, Zhou Hao’s arm is scalded with boiling water, and his agonized screams announce that the lurking serpent has bared its fangs. Li Tianyang transforms from a timid lamb into a cold-eyed King of Hell. He recruits vocational-school thugs, lays down the ruthless rule that they must hand over half their take, and lives by the blade.

When Li Tianyang drives a cold steel pipe tongs through the waist and ribs of Zheng Tu, a local kingpin, in a warehouse on West Street amid a torrential downpour, hot blood splashing across his face, he is no longer a boy. Brother Dao, a powerful figure in the western part of the city, hands him a bloodstained three-edged military dagger. The “key” to controlling the warehouse is both a sign of approval and a death sentence. Zheng Tu’s surviving men sharpen their knives, Zhou Hao’s wealthy father resorts to one dirty trick after another, the police watch him like needles pricking his skin, and the mysterious school beauty Zhang Ya slips him a warning note: “The key is too hot to hold.” Even the brothers who once swore a blood oath with him begin to harbor ambitions of betrayal.

A lone wolf crawls out of the abyss, climbing a staircase paved with blood and fire. With a military dagger in hand, Li Tianyang stands at the heart of the storm. There is no turning back from this path of bloodshed: blood debts must be repaid in blood, and the victor writes the rules. Can the boy’s bloodied blade carve out a dawn of his own in this city that devours its people?
