A Heroine’s Path to Power in Troubled Times

No CP, no romance, no melodrama, no transmigration, no System, no cultivation, no ghosts or monsters.

Just a straightforward historical novel.

Told through the lens of time, this story aims to recount Lü Zhi’s life as objectively as possible.

Lü Zhi (241–180 BCE), courtesy name E Xu, was from Shanfu County, Dang Commandery (modern-day Shan County, Shandong). She was Empress to Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, and the first empress and empress dowager recorded in Chinese history. After Qin Shi Huang unified China and established the imperial system, she was also the first woman to rule from court in her own name. Sima Qian included her in the Basic Annals, his records of emperors’ political affairs, and her political influence spanned the early Western Han dynasty.
