The Story of the Old House and Grandma Gu

Granny Gu was as old and worn as a crumbling mud-brick house. That old house held happy memories of her youth with her husband and children. After her husband died, Granny Gu raised their five children alone, bearing every hardship until they were grown. Now the children bicker and pass the responsibility of caring for her between them, while the elderly Granny Gu can only stay in the old house and weep alone... This novel recounts episodes from Granny Gu's life, from a lifetime of hard work to being cast aside. Through the warmth of everyday life and conflicts between generations, it asks what family affection truly means and how we should care for the elderly.
