Legend of the Mortal Way

A god was cast down into the mortal world and sent through reincarnation countless times, but never managed to return to the Celestial Court. He grew increasingly afraid, and his resolve grew weaker with each passing day. Unable to enter the Six Paths of Reincarnation, his spirit wandered deep in the mountains, where he encountered a monster formed when a plant attained enlightenment and began to cultivate. Misled into practicing the wrong cultivation method, he entered the cycle of reincarnation. As his three souls, weakened and on the verge of leaving his body to reincarnate, merged with the god's divine soul, the god's soul gained a spirit, while the mortal's soul gained a place to anchor itself. The spiritual body took physical form, so it no longer needed to be reborn. The fusion of god and human was like an ordinary mortal becoming a god in an instant, while the god retained his soul and divine power.
