Chang’an: A Tale of Dazzling Swords and Soaring Songs

When Chen Mo, a martial arts student at Beijing Normal University, sinks his fingertips into a pearwood table in a tavern of the High Tang, splinters from a sandalwood paperweight in the library mingle with the toasted aroma of flatbread in the autumn breeze on Zhuque Avenue. Thus begins an extraordinary martial arts adventure spanning a thousand years. Blending historical research with wuxia imagination, this work takes place in Chang'an during the ninth year of the Wude era. Modern combat techniques collide with the flashing blades of the High Tang martial world, while, in the wake of the Xuanwu Gate Incident, a legend unfolds: "A cup of wine in the spring breeze among peach and plum blossoms, ten years of lamplight on rainy nights in the martial world."
