Also known as: Jade-Faced Yama, Have Some Pastries [Aloof Prince vs. Witty Heiress] The scheming, cold-blooded Seventh Prince Xiao Jingyan is forced to marry Shen Li, the daughter of his political enemy. One approaches him with revenge in mind; the other plays along just to stay alive. On their wedding night, he grips her throat and warns her, but she offers him a lotus-paste pastry. When poisoned wine strikes during Consort Shu’s mourning period, she risks her life to make him vomit up the poison. [Saving Each Other] On a rainy night, he loses control and breaks down, while she silently holds an umbrella over him. At a palace banquet, with poisoned wine before them, he drinks it first. When she takes a second cup of poison meant for him and lies near death, the emperor himself kneels at her bedside. “I offer you the empire as your dowry. Will you still leave?” [Memorable Moments] “Your Highness, would you like a lotus-paste pastry? It’s very sweet.” “I married you only to torment the Shen family.” “Your Highness, you seem to be in a lot of pain.” “Xiao Jingyan and Shen Li, let’s get to know each other again.” An ancient-style romance of sweetness and heartbreak, with two strong leads locked in a battle of wits.
