Don’t Call Me Shiro

Setting: 1983, in the early days of reform and opening up. Township enterprises are taking root, private businesses are emerging, the film and television industry is gradually breaking free of institutional constraints, and the beginnings of talent-show culture are taking shape.

Yongzheng and Empress Yehenara are brought together by fate and transmigrate to this era. As feudal imperial thinking collides with modern business logic, and women’s awakening clashes with the traditional harem order, the two reshape their identities amid the tides of the times and learn to live for themselves again. Faced with challenges time and again, the protagonists remain true to themselves and keep moving forward, fighting to preserve their family. They reclaim the dignity of life through their own hard work, turning the tables again and again in the face of adversity.
