At the third quarter of the midnight hour, a corpse knocks at the clinic door!
Su Wei, the proprietor of the Huichuntang clinic in Yongning City, has only one withered left hand remaining, and the mysterious "Taisu pulse" in his wrist throbs day and night. When a corpse he had personally diagnosed as "beyond a doubt, doomed to die" reappears and slams against the clinic door, he knows his peaceful days are over. Moonlight shines like a guillotine, revealing blue-black veins writhing beneath the corpse's neck like living worms. Its lifeless eyes remain fixed on him. "Changsheng Village... save..."
Su Wei's silver needle flashes through the air, its tail linked to the Big Dipper. A burst of eerie blue starlight erupts! The corpse explodes, and countless black threads gather into bloody words suspended in midair:
"Three hundred lives in Changsheng Village, in exchange for the revival of your left hand!"
Agonizing pain drills through his withered hand! At the same time, the century-old locust tree outside the courtyard crashes down. A hollow torrent of endless black insects pours from its trunk, devouring all life!
Su Wei is a physician who fell from the clouds, his severed arm gnawed at day and night by the Spirit-Devouring Gu. Changsheng Village is a name that buries a blood feud and a curse. A gray-robed heretic commands a sea of insects, while ice-pith corpse beetles spit out deadly frost, all to force him into accepting an evil bargain stained with the lives of three hundred people!
In this desperate situation, he reverses the needle technique of the Ling Shu and summons true Li Fire to burn away the evil! The spirit bird Danque weeps blood as it immolates itself, crashing into the evil artifact and shattering it! Torrential rain cannot extinguish the flames and cries of the Huichuntang clinic. On the verge of death, he feels a faint warmth at the heart of Danque's charred body. A strange current of warmth flows backward along the Taisu pulse in his withered hand, temporarily easing the bone-deep agony of the Spirit-Devouring Gu!
The mystical needle will not break, and Taisu will endure forever!
The mystery of his severed left arm, the blood debt of Changsheng Village, the Six Excesses Cult's apocalyptic scheme... When the vital energy of living creatures can also be used as medicine, can this physician with the withered hand wield the mystical Taisu needle as his guide in an age of chaos, where demons roam and the Way of Heaven grows corrupt...
